I don't wanna feel no more
It's easier to keep falling
Imitations are pale
Emptiness of tomorrows
Haunted by your ghost

Lay down, black gives way to blue
Lay down, I'll remember you

Fading out by design
Consciously avoiding changes
Curtain drawn, now it's done
Silencing our tomorrows
Forcing our goodbyes

Lay down, black gives way to blue
Lay down, I'll remember you
For the vaginas that celebrate for eight crazy nights:

For the vaginas that get visited by Santa:

Perhaps the most awesomely unexpectedly entertaining part of The Amazing Race 15’s finale last night was a PSA that aired during one of the commercial breaks. It’s so random and amusing, if not a little jarring, that I thought it was a parody at first:

Yes, CBS wants you to give a pap smear as a present. The best part is that there’s also a generic holiday version (though with a Santa reference), and one targeted toward Jewish viewers that is the most fun of all, as it has both double-entendre and a reference to a “schmear”:

CBS senior VP Matthew Margo, who created the PSAs, wrote on the web site for CBS Cares, where you can watch all of the different versions, about where the idea came from: dinner (“I was waiting for my appetizer when I overheard two women diners talking about pap smears”).

Margo told the New York Daily News that “The menorah can mean different things to different people. It’s just a menorah, not a flamethrower. We exercised a lot of restraint.” He also said “If your main objective is to offend no one, than you’re on a fast track to being irrelevant. In the case of Pap smears, we knew in order to communicate more effectively, there was a possibility that some viewers — and it’s a real minority — might be offended.”

It's almost hard to believe that “How I Met Your Mother” was once considered a bubble show. For the first several seasons, fans waited with anticipation and apprehension for news of a renewal. But co-creator and executive producer Carter Bays was never too worried.

“It just felt like it's a good show. It's a good story,” Bays told Show Tracker. “You just have to have the faith that when you tell a good story, people will want to listen to it.”

They're certainly listening now. Currently in its fifth season, “Mother” is getting more press than ever thanks to classic, lexicon-entering plots like Slapsgiving and Robin Sparkles, a slew of high-profile guest stars (thanks for the ratings bump, Britney Spears) and all-around superstar Neil Patrick Harris, who plays womanizing cad Barney Stinson. This past year, the show was recognized by the Emmy Awards with its first nomination for outstanding comedy series. Fans dissect clues relating to the show's central mystery – who is the mother? – with a level of scrutiny and screen-capturing that is comparable to devotees of “Lost.” And in January, the show will air its 100th episode, which features guest stars Rachel Bilson, Tim Gunn and Stacy Keibler, as well as a musical number starring the entire regular cast.

“It was a very exciting week,” Bays said about filming the episode last month. “Any chance we get to have a little celebration, we pounce on it because it's kind of a ridiculous love-fest over here.”

One love-fest that did not last was the pairing of commitment-phobes Barney and Robin (Cobie Smulders). Recently, I spoke with Bays about what was behind the breakup, why Ted has gotten no love this season and what's ahead for the best friends since “Friends.”

“There's going to be some big shake-ups in the second half of the season between the characters,” Bays promised.

8th-Dec-2009 12:33 am - Candy Canes
I'm looking for a Christmas present for a friend who *loves* candy canes. Someone (probably many someones in this foodie city) must sell something unusual...a candy cane cake, maybe, or a gift basket with fun varieties? Has anyone come across something like that in their holiday wanderings?

Thank you!
Possible stalkers, take heed -- Ryan Sheckler's teenage brother will open up a can of whoop ass if you get too close to his star bro.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Shane Sheckler got into an altercation with a middle-aged guy who kept showing up at the family home. We're told the guy was turned away once by Ryan's mom, but showed up again late Saturday night.

The middle Sheckler bro returned home at around 11:00 PM and encountered the alleged intruder and the two of them got into it. By the time cops arrived, we're told they found the alleged intruder in the street nursing wounds from the altercation.

The alleged intruder was taken to the hospital. He has not been charged yet -- but we're told he probably will be once he leaves the hospital.

Deftones have announced details of a charity auction setup to raise money for bassist Chi Cheng, who has been left in a semi-conscious state since a serious car accident in November 2008.

The band have enlisted the help of Metallica, My Chemical Romance, System Of A Down, Slayer and HIM for the auction, with prizes ranging from signed guitars to a day's studio time with Blink-182's Mark Hoppus.

The auction, which is due to end tomorrow (December 8.....some ending December 15) can be found at Charitybuzz.com/benefitforchi.

Here's a list of some of the other items.......... )

Speaking about the situation, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno said he still hopes that Cheng will make a full recovery.

He stated: "I truly believe he will return to us one day when he is good and rested with a great story to tell in his off the wall Cheng sense of humour. Chi is one tuff 'MF' and if anyone can make it through this, it's gonna be him."

In a video interview with NME.COM back in September, Moreno said he was still hopeful that Cheng will play with the band again.
